Visit Granada in summer, without dying trying!

Visiting Granada (and, by the way, any Andalusian city) in summer can become quite an adventure due to the high temperatures. For this reason, from Gazal Tours we would like to give you some tips and advice that we hope will be useful to you during your vacation in the city.

- Plan your visit: early in the morning and late in the afternoon are the ideal times to visit the exteriors (such as Paseo de los Tristes, Gran Vía, or Plaza Isabel la Católica). Reserve the hottest hours to either rest by taking a siesta (nap) at the hotel (remember you're on vacation!) or visit the interior of monuments, such as the Cathedral or the Royal Chapel. Likewise, Granada has many museums that you cannot miss, such as the Casa de los Tiros Museum and, if you are traveling with the little ones, do not miss the Science Park!

- What about the Alhambra?: if there is a possibility, when you buy the ticket, choose the first hours in the morning. Keep in mind that the time you choose is when you must enter the Nasrid Palaces, being able to visit the rest of the monument before or after (until 8:00 p.m., which is closing time). The part where the sun hits the most is in the Alcazaba, so don't visit that part during lunchtime. Don't miss the Generalife Water Staircase, a very pleasant spot to cool off!

- Escape to the Sierra Nevada: take advantage of the freshness and natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada, located a few kilometers from the city. You can go by car, and buses also leave from the station. You can go hiking, enjoy impressive panoramic views and participate in outdoor activities surrounded by a spectacular natural environment.

- Fans, hats... they are indispensable that we have always seen our grandmothers and grandfathers use, and for a reason! The fan is an ideal complement not only because you can combine it with your outfit, but to keep you cool too; If you don’t want to fan yourself manually, you can buy a rechargeable fan.

- Hydration: although it may seem very obvious, sometimes we forget to drink enough water, which can more easily lead to heat stroke. Our favorite bottles are the thermal ones, since they hold the temperature quite well (and also, we help the environment!). Avoid alcoholic beverages and soda drinks that, far from hydrating us, cause the opposite effect.

- Sunscreen: no matter what your skin type or color is, don't forget to take some sunscreen with you to apply regularly while you're out on the street.

Granada is a destination that offers unforgettable experiences throughout the year. With these tips for visiting it in summer, we hope you can enjoy its history, culture and natural beauty to the fullest without the heat being an obstacle. So get ready for a unique adventure in this captivating city.
